Name: Kobie Donovan
Pursuit: Track and Field
Kobie has a rare form of Dwarfism (Short Statue) making her full height only 112cm. She competes in the area of Track and Field and is currently the Australian Open record holder in her disability class for the 100m, 200m and Javelin. Kobie has the dedication and determination to succeed as an elite athlete, always giving one hundred percent effort. She will use this money towards her regular travel to participate in major athletic events, usually interstate, to provide her opportunities to challenge herself and reach her future goals to become a Paralympian.
When did you start?
Iv always enjoyed playing team sports and running, but only discovered sport for athletes with disabilities in 2008. I started competitively in Athletics in 2009.
Career highlight or biggest achievement?
Breaking and Maintaining 3 Australian Open Records.
What is your dream?
Dream is to represent Australia at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio, Brazil.

How the grant will help you/how will you use the money?
In 2012 I hope to travel to Melbourne and Sydney to try out for the Australian Short Statue team to attend the World championships. The grant will help me significantly to cover the cost of travel, accommodation, equipment and nomination fees. It will also help with the cost of attending the World Games held in America.
