The Layne Beachley Aim for the Stars Foundation is pleased to announce it has been chosen as a Finalist in the 2017 NSW Telstra Business Awards for the Charity of the Year.
Celebrating 25 years in 2017, the Telstra Business Awards are the longest running program honouring the achievements of Australia’s best small and medium businesses (SMBs) and more recently, charities as well.
Telstra Business Executive Director, Brendan Donohoe, said this year’s finalists were demonstrating what it takes to become ‘that’ business – a leader in their field, a name that is trusted and admired and being an organisation that inspires others.
This is the first time Aim for the Stars has entered the Awards and Foundation Founder Layne Beachley is thrilled to have made it this far.
“I am extremely grateful and excited to be a finalist in the Telstra Business Awards 2017! This is a remarkable opportunity to raise awareness and recognise the wonderful work my Foundation achieves. Thank you to Telstra and the panel of judges for acknowledging our efforts which subsequently increases our self-belief and ability to positively impact the community.”
The Layne Beachley Aim for the Stars Foundation was formed in 2003 to cultivate courage and self-belief in women and girls through mentoring and financial assistance.
To date the Foundation has provided scholarships to over 400 women and girls across Australia. We are empowering our sisSTARs to be the best they can be and are proud to see them create a lasting and positive impact on the community.
This year we are supporting 31 incredible sisSTARs from across Australia with immense drive, passion and dreams in a wide array of pursuits.
The NSW Charity of the Year will be announced at the Telstra Business Awards presentation evening on Tuesday 18 July. Stay tuned!
