We're thrilled to have First Seeds Fund as one of the Foundation's 'Dream Maker' sponsors. This year First Seeds will be supporting the sisSTARs in our Business, Leadership and Community pillar.
First Seed Fund is a group of entrepreneurial women who together achieve so much through their gift giving circle, which enables them to pool their resources to create real impact.
Founder of this amazing initiative, Janine Garner says "First Seeds Fund identify and sponsor individuals and programs that support, empower and equip women and children in some of our most disadvantaged Australian communities. We believe that when all women and children have access to education, employment and locally based mentors they drive lasting influence in their own lives, their families and their communities. This is exactly what Aim for the Stars does and we're excited to be involved".
First Seeds Fund members have also committed to being part of the Aim for the Stars Dream Team(our aka volunteer mentor program).
As part of their scholarship sisSTARs recieve a $4,000 grant, a dedicated mentor, access to online resources and a trip to Sydney to paticipate in a two-day Stars2Leader workshop.
The Dream Team is an intregal part of the scholarship program" says Layne Beachley, Founder of Aim for the Stars.
"Mentors played incredibly important role in my career. They helped me become a better and more focused individual". "They supported me and authentically shared in my success".
She adds, "It sounds clique but we all stand on the shoulders of others to get where we need to go and I want our sisSTARs to know that it is important to lean on others - in both good and not so good times".
Many thanks to First Seed Fund members:
