Name: Jody Fisher

Pursuit: Individual Recipient - Classical Guitar

Classical Guitar Jody aspires to be an international touring classical guitarist. She is an exceptional artist and committed musician. At twenty three years of age she has two honours degrees and is currently completing a Master of Music performance, and is now at the point in her studies where it is crucial that she travels overseas to fulfil her potential. Jody has been offered mentoring from a world renowned artist Eduardo Fernandez in Italy. The Aim for the Stars grant money will be used to fund her studies. This opportunity is an important step in allowing Jody to reach her goals.

When did you start? I started learning classical guitar when I was seven, and viola when I was ten.

Career highlight or biggest achievement? Recently – performing solo at the 2010 Adelaide International Guitar Festival.

What is your dream?

Who or what have inspired you?

Who's your hero? My family, in particular my sister, constantly inspire me. If I had to choose a single guitarist I would have to say Julian Bream.

Any other special talents? Um… where do I start?! I think I enjoy too many things! I love freediving, reading, dressmaking, cooking – trying to fit everything in is a big challenge!
