Name: Jane Moran
Pursuit: Water Polo
Jane is in her second Olympic preparation cycle, but hoping to make her first Olympic Games. Since missing out on Beijing she has focused all of her energies on improving her water polo which included her in the 2009 and 2011 World Championship teams and the silver medal winning 2010 World Cup team. When she is not in teh pool she is working as a civil engineer at Aurecon – her very flexible and understanding emplyer. Outside of this Jane coaches junior water polo teams, enjoys growing her on fruit and veg and getting out on the bay sailing or water skiing.
When did you start? In my first year of high school for my school team
Career highlight or biggest achievement? 2nd at the 2010 World Cup
What is your dream? To win gold at the London Olympics
Who or what have inspired you?
Who's your hero? Emma Snowsil – awesome triathlete who has been leading the pack for so long
Any other special talents? I can do a few water skiing tricks but am banned from attempting them until after the Olympics
Favourite Music? My favourites are still going strong – Regurgitator and The Prodigy
Favourite Movie? Shawshank Redemption and Red Dog

How the grant will help you/how will you use the money? The grant will reduce my 2012 Brisbane Barracudas national League fee – arguably the best water polo league in the world!
