When did you start?
I started rowing in year 8 as kind of a joke, me and some friends where at school and seen a video clip of the Olympic rowers on the TV. It was a pretty moving clip and we where all blown away by it, being kids we all laughed and all said 'we could do that easy' my teacher was behind us at the time, she laughed and made us go down to the rowing club with the school rowing programme on that Wednesday too see 'if we actually could', 5 years later I'm still rowing and love it!
Career highlight or biggest achievement?
To me my biggest achievement was winning my first national medal, it was my single scull and there was less than 500m to go. I was coming dead last and I could hear the crowd cheering, I went from dead last to second it felt so amazing I was only 15 at the time and ill never forget that feeling, my first time up on the podium.
What is your dream?
When I watch the Olympics on the TV i can just imagine the sense of achievement when the medallists of what ever sport make it up there on the podium. The look on the faces is unexplainable. I want that to be me one day.
