Announcing our 2012 Grant Recipients

We received a record number of applications this year from some inspirational females around the country. The standard was extremely high and once again our Board of Directors was faced with a very tough decision. 2012 Foundation Grants Will Be Finalized Soon


This year The Foundation received hundreds of applications for grants from a range of talented women across Australia. We have been overwhelmed by the number of ambitious and dedicated females who have put their hand up for some financial and moral assistance to help achieve their goals. These applications have been passed onto the Foundation’s Board Members for review and the successful 2012 grant recipients will be announced both on our Website and on Facebook by Friday 3rd February 2012. We look forward to introducing these girls and women to you soon.

The Layne Beachley Aim for the Stars Foundation is inviting girls and women across Australia whether they are an academic, an athlete, an artist or even an archaeologist to apply.
 
An opportunity exists for all females striving to achieve their goals. Applications close November 11, 2011.

Recently the Foundation flew in all the 2011 recipients and their companions from around Australia to Sydney for a couple of days of fun, inspiration and celebration.

Go the Mighty Sea Eagles

The Layne Beachley Aim for the Stars Foundation has been included as one of the Sea Eagles official charity partners for the 2011 NRL season.

Aim for the Stars will be fundraising at Brookvale Oval on Monday night June 20 2011 when the Sea Eagles go up against the Eels. Aim for the Stars has lots of activities planned, so get to the game and get behind Layne and Aim for the Stars.

Money raised goes directly to supporting talented and aspiring women across Australia.

Kurt Fearnley Inspires Corporates to Dig Deep

Last week one of our loyal sponsors KPMG - kindly hosted an “Intimate Lunch with Kurt Fearnley” to raise money for the Foundation. Corporates were treated to a sumptuous three course meal and listened to the inspiring Marathon Man of wheelchair sports. The two–time Paralympic champion has won all around the world, from New York and Chicago to Seoul, Paris and Sydney, he has conquered the globe. Fearnley is undisputed best over 42.2km.

Aim for the Stars Makes News

Natarsha Belling – Popular Channel Ten Newsreader  invited Layne Beachley and one of the Foundations 2011 recipients – Ame Barnbrook onto her morning program to be interviewed. It was quite a thrill for Ame from the small town of Narooma in southern NSW to find herself in the Channel Ten Newsroom.

Our annual fundraising gala event will be held on 5th August 2011 at the stunning Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf. There will be a celebrity guest speaker, a unique live auction, fine food and wine, an opportunity to meet our amazing and inspiring 2011 grant recipients and of course plenty of dancing with some fabulous entertainment!
